As world leaders gather at the COP26 climate. Conference, climate change and the environment are a top priority this year. Extreme weather events are happening more frequently and getting more intense, which is having rippling effects across global communities. 

Climate change is contributing to food insecurity, housing insecurity, internal conflict, and creating climate refugees, among other issues. 

With low-income and marginalized communities hit hardest, the impact of climate change can already been seen across the globe. And it’s having a disproportionate effect on girls and young women. 

Here are six ways climate change is affecting women through education, according to Assembly, a Malala Fund publication.
