Belarus clears thousands of migrants from its border with Poland

Belarusian authorities cleared a makeshift migrant camp near one of its border crossing with Poland where thousands had amassed in recent weeks.

Over 400 Iraqi citizens were flown back to their country, while many others are being housed in a large Belarusian warehouse.

About 7,000 migrants are still reportedly in Belarus, with an estimated 2,000 at a second camp near the Bruzgi border crossing with Poland.

Belarus has been accused of using migrants to strong-arm the EU into removing sanctions against them.
