Brazil records over 5,110 square miles of deforestation in one year

Brazil has recorded more than 5,110 square miles of deforestation between August 2020 and July 2021 through satellite imaging, the country’s space research agency said this week.
The rainforests are considered essential to protecting the world against catastrophic changes in climate.
