Authorities are investigating the source of the accidental discharge that caused chaos and panic inside the Hartsfield Jackson-International Airport in Atlanta on Saturday. 

Flights were halted and no injuries were reported. Guns are authorized in terminals in Georgia with special permits if carried in checked luggage.

CNN later reported that the gun that was accidentally discharged belonged to a passenger. When the gun was being retrieved at a security check point, it went off and the owner of the gun took off running.
