The United Nations is raising an alarm for Afghanistan. With 22% of the population already near famine, and another 36% facing acute food insecurity, thousands of families are going hungry.
Afghanistan’s economy was already struggling before the Taliban’s renewed takeover, but after the change in power, international aid and other services have stopped.
Now, many families are lining up for food and cash from the UN World Food Program and finding ways to work, getting food, and staying warm.
