As in many countries, the COVID-I9 pandemic in Brazil hit its Black population much harder than its White citizens.
Many researchers and activist groups say this is yet another reflection of racism and inequality at play. And that racial divide is serving as a compelling backdrop - as Brazil celebrates Black Awareness all this month.
