Rat sightings rise in New York

The number of rat sightings in New York City has jumped substantially this year. Cases of leptospirosis - a bacterial disease spread by the urine of rats - have also hit a 15-year high.

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically altered the way we live, and experts say that is impacting the city’s rat population.
