Lebanon is a country facing compounded crises – an economic crunch, medical and health disasters, impacts from the devastating port explosion from 2020, and fractured political institutions that have debilitated much of the country and left millions in dire poverty.

Decades of conflict and external pressures from regional actors and global influences have led to the current situation with real solutions few and far between.

CGTN spoke with independent journalist and editor for the Beirutreport.com Habib Battah, who explains what the situation is like on the ground and the ongoing struggles to bring impactful change to the country.
