Indonesia's volcanology agency is sending researchers to Mount Semeru to identify areas too dangerous to live in after the volcano erupted.
Since the eruption, some are questioning the nation's disaster warning system and whether villages near the volcano should be moved.
Some villages are currently under meters of molten ash. With thousands of homes damaged or destroyed, officials say it's likely many will need to rebuild in other areas.
