Residents near the city of Mayfield in the U.S. State of Kentucky faced destroyed homes, businesses, and other buildings in the aftermath of a severely destructive tornado that tore through the Midwest U.S. on Friday.

Survivors of the storm recounted praying hard and just barely missing being buried under rubble as the tornado tore through their neighborhood causing roofs to be torn off and buildings to collapse.

Rescue crews in Kentucky searched through the ruins of homes, factories, and other buildings. 80 people have been confirmed dead, and Kentucky's governor warned the state's death toll could top 100. U.S. President Joe Biden has declared a state of emergency as Kentucky awaits additional aid.
