Thousands of migrants clashed with Mexican police outside the capital, Mexico City.

The caravan of migrants were walking along the Puebla-Mexico City highway with intentions of reaching the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, reports Yahoo! News.

But police blocked them, saying they had to go to a hostel instead. Government officials say 550 police officers were deployed to escort the migrant caravan through the capital.
