This Chinese traditional painting scroll was created by Chinese artists Zhang Yonghai, Zhao Shengli and Wen Yakun in 2017.
It depicts the late Liao Junbo, an outstanding CPC member and former executive deputy mayor of Nanping City in Fujian Province, inspecting grassroots-level work and listening to the needs of the people.
Zhenghe County was the most impoverished county in Fujian Province.
In 2011, Liao Junbo was nominated as the Party chief of Zhenghe County. He decided to focus on poverty alleviation and improve living conditions.
He took the lead in performing field inspections in poor villages and creating poverty-relief plans for different areas.
Liao Junbo helped farmers expand their agriculture output. He explored new development opportunities in industrialization, urbanization and tourism.
The economic transformation attracted migrant workers to return home and become more engaged in the development of their hometowns.
In fewer than four years, Zhenghe County was among the top 10 counties with the fastest economic development.
Its urban area doubled, and more than 30,000 people were lifted out of poverty.
In 2015, Liao was honored as one of 102 model Party chiefs at the county level by the CPC Central Committee.
Liao died in 2017 at the age of 48 in a traffic accident while heading to a meeting during his term as vice mayor of Nanping City.
This painting pays tribute to his devotion to duty and public service.
