In 2021, an ongoing migrant crisis has touched every aspect of life and politics in Latin American countries – especially for regions of southern Mexico. 

In his series on the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, CGTN’s Alasdair Baverstock reports on the conditions of Haitian migrants struggling to find hope in the migration process in Mexico.

Thousands of Haitians are entering and crossing through Mexico. Some have intentions of reaching the U.S., while others are staying in Mexico to start their new lives.

It's led to the creation of Little Haiti, a community where Haitian and Mexican culture combine.
