Winter can be deadly for many displaced refugees in northwest Syria. The need for warmth and for cooking forces many to burn anything they can find, including toxic materials such as plastic. 

The UN says $182 million is needed for winter aid across Syria this year alone, but so far only half that amount has been secured. Learn more.
