Cities tackle light pollution for brighter skies

The climate change emergency and the challenges finding consensus on how to deal with it dominate the environmental agenda.
But light pollution attracts much less attention.

And yet it’s above and all around us, and, according to some studies, linked with a host of health problems, including obesity and cancer.

Light saturation is also blamed for disconnecting societies in an era when we’ve never been more connected by technology.

So, the city of Pittsburgh is aiming to bring back a little celestial wonder by embracing the dark, as CGTN’s Owen Fairclough reports.
