"Peace, not war, is the biggest common ground between China and the U.S. We hope the U.S. can truly realize that 'Taiwan independence' is the greatest threat to this common ground." Chinese ambassador to the U.S. Qin Gang said.

Qin went on to explain that the U.S. keeps provoking and encouraging 'Taiwan independence' forces, but to deter these forces from claiming independence, Beijing cannot renounce non-peaceful means.

"What's the best way to manage crises on Taiwan issues? The answer is better to prevent them from happening than controlling them when they happen." Qin said, urging the U.S. to stop policies and actions to provoke the issues and give peace a chance.
