Hotels in New York say the surge in cases of the COVID-19 Omicron variant led to mass cancellations over the holiday season. 

Some hotels are also struggling to recruit staff in the face of a national labor shortage.  But industry leaders say the situation is still much improved from 2020 and that the year ahead is looking positive.
