A Colombian man on Friday became the first person in Latin America to undergo euthanasia for a non-terminal illness. 

Victor Escobar said he felt "immense tranquility" and had no fear of what was to come as he was slowly sedated. His death marked the end of a two-year battle with doctors, clinics and courts.
