U.S. suffered $145 billion in economic losses from climate disasters

Climate disasters took a heavy toll on the U.S. in 2021 as hurricanes, wildfires, deep freezes, and other forms of extreme weather took lives, destroyed homes, and left entire communities struggling to recover. New data released by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration shows the hundreds of billions of dollars the U.S. economy lost to a year of climate change.
