Protesters and public advocates marched in New York City on Friday against the expiration of an eviction moratorium.  

The moratorium was implemented in spring 2020 when the pandemic threw tenants across the nation into hardships. It's set to expire on Saturday. 

New York City Mayor Eric Adams demanded the federal government release “immediate” additional funds to assist New Yorkers still struggling to pay their rent.
