New COVID-19 cases trigger new safety rules globally

As new cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, countries around the world are adjusting their requirements for vaccinations, testing, isolation, and other safety measures. Here's a look at the latest pandemic developments as of Monday, January 17.

While adjustments to traveling rules primarily kicked off the week, one of the most noticeable changes came to Beijing as organizers of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games issued a statement that they would stop selling tickets to the Olympic games amid concerns about  the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
