Peru declared an environmental emergency on Thursday and has demanded compensation from the oil giant Repsol after an oil spill at a refinery run by the Spanish firm. The company blamed freak waves from a volcanic eruption near Tonga for causing the environmental disaster. CGTN’s Dan Collyns reports from the site of the spill.
