This painting was created by Chinese artist Deng Yi in 2019.
It depicts one of the highlights of China’s military parade at the Zhurihe military training base in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 2017.
This grand parade was held to celebrate the 90th founding anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).
In 2012, Chinese President Xi Jinping launched the largest military reform plan since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
With an area covering more than 1,000 square kilometers, Zhurihe is the largest military training base in Asia and the PLA’s most modernized training base.
It is designed to carry out combat drills and high-tech combined tactics training.
More than 12,000 service personnel and hundreds of fighters, tanks and vehicles took part in the parade.
Many of China’s new weapons and equipment made their parade debut including the Y-20 heavy transport aircraft and the J-20 stealth fighter.
The Y-20 is designed to carry cargo and personnel over long distances in severe weather conditions.
It officially entered military service in 2016.
The J-20 is China's fourth-generation medium and long-range fighter jet, which has enhanced the combat capacity of China’s air force.
The parade also displayed the nation’s most advanced electronic warfare devices, showcasing the PLA’s information operation capacity.
This field parade showed the PLA's rapid transformation to a world-class military.
