New York Police Department officer Jason Rivera was shot and killed while responding to a call in Harlem last night. Another officer is in critical condition. Rivera was 22 years old. The shootings are the fourth and fifth NYPD officers to be shot in 2022.

 The perpetrator is also in critical condition after a third officer wounded him as he attempted to flee. 

The gun used in the shooting is a .45-caliber Glock with a magazine that can hold 40 extra rounds. It was stolen in Baltimore in 2017, the AP reported.
