A massive cold front and blizzard swept through Istanbul, Turkey, overnight, causing the Istanbul airport to delay its reopening on Tuesday, stranding thousands of passengers.  

Hundreds of cars and trucks blocked main roads in the city, as Istanbul officials scrambled to clear throughways of snow and ice.
