BA.2 is a new sub-set of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 that’s been detected in multiple places around the world in recent weeks.  

The World Health Organization has not deemed it “a variant of concern” by giving it a Greek letter, but scientists are studying the new sub-variant as it emerges.  Here is what we know so far.
