Dangerous subzero wind chills hit multiple regions across the Northeastern U.S. on Sunday after a winter storm dumped snow, flooded coastlines, and knocked out power to tens of thousand of residents. The U.S. state of Massachusetts bore the brunt of the storm. 

In Massachusetts, some towns got more than 30 inches (76 centimeters) of snow and power outages were by far the most widespread, with more than 100,000 people losing power at the storm's height. 

Outages have dropped to fewer than 50,000 as of Sunday.
