The U.S. economy confounded forecasts this Friday to add more than a half-million new jobs.

The 467,000 added in January were way beyond expectations.

Some even predicted a negative number due to the impact of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

But if it’s good news for many, these numbers put even greater pressure on some employers, as CGTN’s Owen Fairclough reports.
