In response to the weeks long trucker protest in the nation's capital Ottawa, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says they have the right to protest but they "don't have the right to blockade our economy, or our democracy, or our fellow citizens' daily lives. It has to stop."

Truckers and others have been protesting COVID-19 vaccines and restrictions for almost two weeks, blocking roads, the downtown area and a bridge leading to the U.S.

Hundreds of Royal Canadian Mounted Police have been mobilized to support Ottawa police officers and the city has been placed under a state of emergency.

Officials are concerned a blockade at the U.S./Canada border could impact supply chains with the auto industry.
