Thousands have been protesting COVID-19 vaccines and restrictions in Canada, blocking downtown Ottawa and the border between the U.S. and Canada.
The protests are now impacting supply chains between both nations, particularly the car industry.
The Teamsters union, which represents 15,000 long-haul truck drivers in Canada, but generally not those protesting, denounced the blockade, reports the NYT.
Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario is calling for the protesters to go home or "there will be consequences, and they will be severe."
