At least 117 people are dead in Petropolis, Brazil after heavy rains and flooding led to deadly landslides.

Rescuers are still searching for people as families and friends wait to hear about their loved ones.

More than 700 people had to leave their homes and take shelter in other places.

Officials say the area saw the heaviest rains in almost a century, according to Reuters.
