Six months since the Taliban seized power, life goes on for Afghans internally displaced at the Shaidayee refugee camp in the western Herat province. 

Afghanistan had already had 3.5 million internally-displaced people before the Taliban took over. 

According to the UNHCR, that number soared by more than a half-million Afghan civilians in 2021.
