"Assertions that China knew about, acquiesced to or tacitly supported this war are purely disinformation," writes Chinese Ambassador Qin Gang in a Washington Post Opinion piece.

While discussing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Ambassador Qin stresses claims of China having previous knowledge about Russia's military action and Russia seeking Chinese military assistance, are false.

In this piece, Ambassador Qin explains where China stands in the conflict. He adds, conflict between both countries benefits no one and if China had known about it prior, they would have tried to prevent it.

"China is committed to an independent foreign policy of peace," says Ambassador Qin. He states China's position is objective and impartial and they are working to promote peace between Russia and Ukraine.
