Anti-government protests brought on by Sri Lanka’s worsening economic crisis, fuel shortages and spiraling food prices took over the main road in front of the president’s office on Tuesday in Colombo.  

Tens of thousands of people showed up to participate in a demonstration led by supporters of the opposition party United People’s Force, whose leader Sajith Premadasa demands that President Gotabaya Rojapaksa resign.
