Hindus across the Indian subcontinent marked the ancient celebration of Holi: The festival of colors, spring, and love. The holiday commemorates Hindu mythology and honors the victory of good over evil. 

It's also an opportunity to shed inhibitions and cross class boundaries. During the festivities, people smear each other with bright colors and fire water guns filled with colored water at each other.
