Volunteers are working tirelessly against the clock in Ukraine to prevent abandoned animals and pets from being forgotten casualties in the fighting.  

Many owners had to make an agonizing choice to leave their animals behind when they fled their homes in Ukraine. 

Volunteers were seen dragging a pony that had collapsed from stress into a trailer on Thursday, amid corpses of other animals at a private zoo that had been killed by shelling on the outskirts of Kyiv.
