“You are a Chinese company, but you are a global company, just like a good hybrid seed.” Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Qin Gang said to employees of seed company Syngenta on Friday. 

Qin and his delegation toured the testing facilities in Slater, Iowa, learning about the rigorous five-step testing process Syngenta seed samples go through before being sold on the global market. ChemChina’s $43 billion acquisition of Syngenta happened in 2017.  

The Ambassador and his delegation are on a three-state tour of the American Midwest.
