The U.S. announced a new program Thursday to help Ukrainian refugees apply for temporary residency status from Europe.
It's aimed at streamlining the process, as the U.S. has committed to accepting 100,000 Ukrainian refugees.
But it also seeks to shut down an informal route that's brought thousands of Ukrainians to America's southern border with Mexico.
