Southern California officials are demanding businesses and residents in parts of Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties decrease their outdoor watering to one day a week, CNN reports.

California is facing a strong drought that has caused water shortages. 

Some six million people will be impacted by the water restrictions.
