Pro-choice advocates march in U.S. cities for reproductive freedom

Activists and advocates of a woman’s right to choose a safe and legal abortion took to the streets in more than 400 cities in states like Texas, Georgia, New York, California and Washington and the nation’s capital. 

Earlier this month a Supreme Court leaked opinion draft sparked outrage among women’s rights supporters, who demand reproductive freedom and control over one’s body continue to be protected by the United States Constitution.

Protesters on the mall in Washington D.C. on Saturday demanded the protection of the 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling that that made abortion legal in the country and protected a woman’s freedom to choose to undergo the procedure without excessive government restriction.

Women’s rights activists are preparing for what organizers are calling a “summer of rage” should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn the Roe vs. Wade ruling that legalized the procedure nationwide in 1973.
