The metropolitan region of Recife - capital of Brazil's Northeastern State of Pernambuco - is on high alert for floods and mudslides.

Dozens of people have already been killed rain related disasters in the region since Wednesday - with the deadliest events Thousands other had their homes destroyed or had leave die to the danger of new landslides.

And the rain continued on Monday - adding even more to the risk. CGTN’s Paulo Cabral reports.
