Primary midterm elections are kicking off in seven U.S. states on Tuesday, as Democrats and Republicans head to the polls to elect their representatives to run for the House and Senate.

Voters in California, Mississippi, New Mexico, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey and South Dakota are lining up to cast their ballots after months of campaigning by hopeful state and district politicians.
