Workers in protective suits could be seen among the residents in Shanghai, China getting out on the street Thursday to enjoy the city, as fresh COVID-19 alerts were issued.

A new round of mass testing will take place for millions of Shanghai residents.

Shanghai’s Minhang district, with more than two million residents, will again go into lockdown, sticking to China’s ‘zero-COVID’ policy intended to stop chains of transmission as soon as possible.

Shanghai only recently ended its two-month lockdown shortly before three infections were traced to a beauty salon, officials said Thursday.
