Power demand in Texas reached record highs over the weekend because of a heatwave.

Despite the stress, the state's power grid didn’t experience major disruptions, according to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.

This weekend Texans saw temperatures go over 100°F (37°C), the Texas Tribune reports.

People are advised to stay indoors and stay hydrated.

Hot conditions are expected through Monday night, Reuters reports.
