Fresh protests in New Delhi and Kolkata Tuesday signal that anger is not abating among many Muslims who say they are tired of attacks on their religion in India.

At the same time, Muslim activists along with members from a Hindu religious and spiritual organization took part in a unity rally to promote communal harmony in Kolkata on Tuesday.

The outcry was triggered by remarks made last week by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members on Prophet Mohammad, which also led to clashes between Hindus and Muslims in several cities and widespread furor in the Islamic world.

Two teenagers were killed and hundreds arrested last week amid nationwide protests over the comments.

Muslims could be seen listening to a speaker during a demonstration on Tuesday in Kolkata demanding the arrest of BJP member Nupur Sharma for her comments on Prophet Mohammad.BJP has been accused of championing discriminatory policies towards Muslims since coming to power nationally in 2014.
