After historic flooding washed away roads and structures in Yellowstone National Park in the western United States, parts of the famous park will remain closed for the rest of the year, park officials said Wednesday. 

Snowmelt and heavy rains created an abundance of run-off that quickly flooded rivers and created conditions too dangerous for visitors.  The park has been closed for three days.
