Colombians are headed to the polls on Sunday, to decide who will be the nation's next president.

Two populist candidates are running for the position: Gustavo Petro, a leftist senator and former guerrilla and Rodolfo Hernández, a former mayor.

Both say they will provide radical change to Colombia's government.

If elected, Petro's running mate, vice-presidential candidate Francia Marquez, would be the nation's first Afro-Colombia to hold executive powers.

Recent polls show, the candidates are roughly tied.

CGTN’s Michelle Begue will be following the election from Bogotá.
