CGTN

U.S. midterm primary elections, which take place two years after a presidential term, often play out as a referendum on the current president’s policy, as Democrats and Republicans head to the polls to elect their representatives to run for the House and Senate.

Midterm primaries began on March 1st in Texas and continue until November. On Tuesday, voters in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and Virginia will head to the polls to participate in their state’s 2022 Primary Election. Voters are lining up to cast their ballots after months of campaigning by state and district politicians. Their votes will decide the candidates who will face off in the 2022 midterm election in November.

In the District of Colombia voters will decide who will be serving as their mayor.
