Indigenous protesters are clashing with police in Ecuador's capital Quito.

Protesters are demonstrating against a high cost of living.

Thousands have marched in Quito throughout the week, demanding the government cut fuel prices, halt the expansion of oil production and mining, and increase the budget for healthcare, among other issues, Reuters reports.

Since protests began, major roads into Quito have been blocked.
