Pop-up art exhibit in Texas celebrates Black hair

For decades, Black Americans have faced discrimination based on the natural texture of their hair, and the way they style it. 

Everything from Afros, to braids, to cornrows has been targeted. A recent national study found that girls as young as 5-years-old have faced hair discrimination that can last a lifetime.
